Shadows

 

Dancing shadows on the wall
Let me know he has come to call

Screaming voices in my head
Fill my soul with fear and dread

Every time I see them dance
I know that I have no chance

He crawls inside to take his piece
The horrors never seem to cease

Petals fall like summer's introduction
Numbness enhanced by forbidden seduction

Each time he leaves a part he takes
Still threatening such high stakes

Each petal falls at an ascending rate
Sealing me within my fate

My life spun out of control
Facing a tomorrow that will never be whole
